Debuting four short works by some of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming choreographers, this annual event, supported by the UHArts and Dance East, is a platform for new performances by a diverse range of dance artists. Dance Springs is a co-commission with DanceEast and UHArts and was performed at Jerwood DanceHouse in Ipswich and University of Hertfordshire.

As part of this choreography platform, the participants are mentored by established dance industry figures, Russell Maliphant and Cameron McMillan, as part of our commitment to supporting emerging dance artists. Botis was mentored by Cameron McMillan, which saw him develop his piece ‘Shifu‘.

This year’s show presents new work by the following artists:

  • Hip hop dancer and choreographer Botis Seva, who has previously worked with Sadler’s Wells.
  • Katie Webster and Benjamin Shepherd known collectively as Crimson and The Rovers.
  • Physical theatre artist Pola Krawczuk who has recently choreographed for the Emerge Festival 2015.
  • Suffolk-based Spanish choreographer Neus Gil Cortes who has danced with companies including the National Dance Company, Hofesh Shechter Company.
