Until We Sleep is set against the shadow of authoritarian rule, a lone nomad searching for faith while guiding a restless community through shifting realms of time. Through Seva’s distinctive fusion of hip-hop physicality and freeform movement, the dancers of Far From The Norm navigate a world shaped by struggle, resilience and the enduring pursuit of hope. Driven by a score of layered percussion and guttural textures, the choreography pulses with urgency and intensity.

Feathered costumes evoke warriors shedding former selves, while stark lighting transforms the stage into a volatile landscape where an unrelenting force looms overhead. Visceral, poetic and deeply affecting, Until We Sleep examines what we hold onto in the face of uncertainty, offering a powerful reflection on the human spirit’s determination to remain awake in a world that would rather see it sleep.

Tremendously atmospheric and technically impressive

A spectacle that stimulates all the senses.”

Until We Sleep is a combination of Botis' rebellious earlier choreographic urges and his more recent methodological learnings and personal life maturities over the past 14 years.

What began as Mama in 2024 underwent a remarkable two-year evolution, ultimately emerging as Until We Sleep in 2025. What The Guardian (UK) described in 2024 as “difficult second-album syndrome” had, by 2025, transformed into what they called “a deep dive into the mind of an artist coming into his own.”

Until We Sleep is a work Far From The Norm is immensely proud of.

What began as an exploration of uncertainty has become a richly immersive work about resilience, revelation and the importance of self within community. Not only does it reflect Botis’ experiences of creating the work, but it also speaks to the pressures of leadership.

Until We Sleep invites audiences into a dreamlike (and sometimes nightmarish world) where struggle and hope coexist.
